Behind the knitting patterns

Hello, my name is Josie Xie. Like many other knitters, I learned to knit when I was a child, and returned as an adult. I find knitting incredibly rewarding and therapeutic, and the perfect antidote to my hectic and nomadic life.

With a digital design background and a software development career, I'm able to apply unique perspectives to my pattern writing. Knitwear is like digital interfaces in that it's never a static design, due to differences in yarn, gauge, and other factors. Just like designing for screens of different sizes, I like to design my knitwear with fluidity in mind. And just like writing code and testing edge cases, I like to write my patterns with care for the details.
